| Full Name: Nickname: Gender: Age: Element: Birthplace: Position:
| Kanok II Lotus Male 21 Non-bender The Northern Water Tribe (Before the Fall) Prince // Northern Wolf |
- Personality:
Personality: Kanok strikes most people as a privileged pretty boy, an unapproachable clique leader with a snobbish attitude toward normal folks. Problem is, aside from his looks, 100% of that is completely untrue of him. He seems that way because he's not as socially smooth as many people who look like he does are. If he feels comfortable with someone, he'll carry on a conversation that could endear him to his worst enemies. In that way, he's fairly charming. But he's not so easy around people he doesn't know. This comes off as him snubbing people because he just sort of... moves on when someone he's just uneasy around joins a conversation he's having, but it has nothing to do with snobbery, position, or any other sort of feeling of superiority. If anything, it comes from a very old feeling of inferiority he acquired in his earliest youth and continues to haunt him to this day despite his sister's ongoing attempts to force him to be more outgoing.
The fact of the matter is this: Kanok has a great sense of humor, a broad range of knowledge, a friendly disposition, and a mischievous spirit. He's clever and caring and doesn't allow his position to corrupt him, something that is not easily said of other royals. He enjoys Pai Sho, a game he learned from his grandmother, and is commonly referred to by his fellow Northern Wolves as 'Lotus' for the white lotus tile he wears around his neck. He spends much of his time practicing his swordsmanship and reading from the royal library, of which he is now one of the principal caretakers. But despite his many hobbies, he still spends the vast majority of his time with his twin sister, Naiya...
- Abilities:
Swordsman: Expert | Though not a bender, Kanok, like his sister, was trained from a very early age to use the tools of the tribe. Kanok took a quick liking to the sword, an elegant weapon that is as versatile as it is simple. Under the tutelage of a man known only as Kiri, he learned to wield a blade with incredible skill. Kiri brought out his natural talent with the weapon and taught him how to make use of it in many ways. Since then, he's become well known for his blade skills. |
- Appearance:
::Appearance::Height: 5'11" Weight: 152 lbs. Eyes: Sapphire Blue Hair: Dark Brown A strong young man with an impressive set of facial features, Kanok is generally considered to be one of the more handsome male members of the royal court. Having spent many years practicing with the blade and many other weapons, he's developed a fine physique, though he's more concerned with his ability to fight than he is with his physical appearance. His dark brown hair, which, while down, hangs well past his shoulders, is kept up in a wolf's tail. His right arm is adorned with an extensive tattoo which spans down from his shoulder to his middle finger and across his right collar bone. He wears a pair of gray pants with brown leather details, a shirt made of patterned blue silk, boots made of dark gray leather and sturdy fabrics, and a choker given to him by his grandmother which features an aged white lotus Pai Sho tile. Weaponry & Other Gear:The Gray Wolf: __________Niuweidao | Crafted by the master smith and royal armorer, Cao Mu Jin, the Gray Wolf is a niuweidao blade hybrid with a saber's hilt and guard. After witnessing Kanok's style in three dozen sparring matches, a tradition which Cao credits for the perfection of his blades, he crafted the weapon to suit Kanok perfectly in battle. Kanok has since favored Gray Wolf above all other weapons with the possible exception of the Jade Oceans, a pair of sabers given to him by his sister. Unbendable, the Gray Wolf is said to be sharp enough to split a hair along its length and strong and durable enough to block a thousand great strikes without flinching. Regardless of Gray Wolf's qualities, it is a well known companion to Prince Kanok and has earned a reputation in his care. | The Jade Oceans: Twin Sabers | Gifted to Kanok by his twin sister and most trusted friend, Princess Naiya, the Jade Oceans are so named for the blue-green jade and gold hilts that adorn the twin weapons. Made with an unusual metal which, while light, strikes with incredible force, does not bow to the power of metalbending, and does not easily dull. Despite the obvious superiority of the weapons, Kanok uses them sparingly, only taking them into battle when he has great need of the incredible advantage they afford him. He keeps his skills sharp in dual blade combat and has an extensive set of techniques for just such a weapons set that he developed with the help of his master, the mysterious Kiri. To date, no one has defeated him in battle while he wielded both weapons. |
History:
he's spent most of his life with no one except his twin sister. He stalked the libraries of the North most of his childhood, reading anything and everything that caught his eye to pass the time. As a young child, he wasn't the best in any sort of games or other physical activities and as he was a non-bender, he didn't have many advantages to draw off of. This being a time before he was a prince, he didn't even have a position that afforded him extra consideration. When teams were picked, he was always the odd man out. Not wa
